    Azithromycin oral suspension

Azithromycin Oral Suspension Powder is a prescription medicine that is used to treat severe cases of thickened mucus caused by bacterial infections. Azithromycin Oral Suspension Powder is also used to treat severe cases of nasal congestion caused by sinusitis, to treat certain cases of pneumonia, to treat inflammation of the throat caused by bacterial infections, to treat certain bacterial skin infections, to treat inflammation of the urethra caused by bacterial infections, to treat inflammation of the cervix, to treat certain genital diseases in men, and to treat middle ear infections in children. Azithromycin Oral Suspension Powder cannot be used to treat viral infections such as the common cold or flu. Azithromycin Oral Suspension should also not be used to treat all bacterial infections as this may lead to the development of drug-resistant bacteria. It should only be used for the treatment of bacterial infections where it is effective. Azithromycin Oral Suspension should not be used to treat elderly patients, patients that require hospitalization, or patients who have severe health problems such as immunodeficiency. Azithromycin Oral Suspension belongs to the Macrolide Antibacterial class of medicines. Macrolide antibacterials are a class of antibiotics that are used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections. Azithromycin extended-release suspension is used to treat certain bacterial infections (including sinusitis, pneumonia). Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness. This medication will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking azithromycin and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal). For adults, take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually the whole bottle all at once as a single dose. For children, the dose is based on your child's weight. Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon.

Azithromycin for oral suspension is a macrolide antibacterial drug indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated. The study will compare the relative bioavailability rate and extent of absorption of 200 mg/5 mL Azithromycin oral suspension manufactured by TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Consumer information about the medication AZITHROMYCIN SUSPENSION - ORAL Zithromax, includes side effects, drug interactions, recommended dosages, and storage information.

Zithromax oral suspension 200mg/5ml is used to treat a variety of mild to moderate infections in adults and children, caused by certain susceptible types of bacteria in different areas of the body. These include lower respiratory tract infections caused by Streptococcus or Haemophilus, such as pneumonia and bronchitis; also upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis and otitis media (ear infection); skin and soft tissue infections like folliculitis and cellulitis, abscess and ulcers caused by Staphylococcus and Streptococcus; sexually transmitted disease caused by Chlamydia, including urethritis and cervicitis; pelvic inflammatory disease (infection and inflammation of uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries). Zithromax oral suspension is also used to prevent opportunistic infection (bacteria that lie dormant until activated by low immunity) with Mycobacterium Avium-Intracellulare complex (MAC) in people with HIV. Zithromax oral suspension contains azithromycin, an antibiotic belonging to the azalides group, which is a sub-class of the macrolides. Azithromycin in Zithromax oral suspension prevents the spread of bacterial infection by blocking bacterial protein synthesis so that the bacteria cannot produce proteins that are needed for its growth. This action stops the growth and spread of the bacteria and relieves symptoms of the bacterial infection, which include inflammation and pain. Zithromax oral suspension does not work against viruses which use a different mechanism to grow and replicate. Each 5 ml prepared suspension contains 204.8 mg azithromycin monohydrate equivalent to 200 mg azithromycin. Each 1 ml prepared suspension contains 40.96 mg azithromycin monohydrate equivalent to 40 mg azithromycin. Excipients with known effect: • Sucrose 3.70 g/ 5 ml • Aspartame (E951) 0.030 g/ 5 ml • Sodium 7.739 mg (0.336 mmol) /5 ml For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1. Azithromycin powder for oral suspension is indicated for the treatment of the following infections, when caused by micro-organisms sensitive to azithromycin (see section 4.4 and 5.1): - acute bacterial sinusitis (adequately diagnosed) - acute bacterial otitis media (adequately diagnosed) - pharyngitis, tonsillitis - acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (adequately diagnosed) - mild to moderately severe community acquired pneumonia - skin and soft tissue infections - uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis Considerations should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents. Adults In uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis, the dose is 1,000 mg in one single oral dose. For all other indications the dose is 1,500 mg, to be administered as 500 mg per day for three consecutive days. Alternatively the same total dose (1,500 mg) can also be given over a period of 5 days with 500 mg on the first day and then 250 mg on days 2 to 5.

The use of medication is a critical issue among those who struggle with anxiety on a daily basis, as well as for professionals treating anxiety disorders. For many people, medication is a positive turning point along the path to recovery. For others, medication can confuse and complicate the recovery process, when freedom from anxiety is purchased at the cost of long-term addiction to tranquilizers. For still other people—those who are either phobic of or philosophically opposed to all types of drugs—medication may seem not to be an option, even when it's needed. One thing is clear: The pros and cons of relying on medication are unique and variable in each individual case. If you feel your problem with anxiety is relatively mild (if it's more of an inconvenience or nuisance instead of a debilitating or highly distressing condition), you may want to consider cognitive behavioral therapy (as described on this site) and/or natural approaches first before trying prescription medication. Natural approaches include regular, preferably aerobic exercise, a practice of regular deep relaxation (for example, a recorded relaxation visualization or meditation), stress management, simplifying your life, and natural herbs or supplements which have a relaxing effect. According to the National Institutes of Health, Xanax is a benzodiazepine medication that is prescribed to treat anxiety and panic disorders. Xanax is very addictive and can have serious side effects, including a fatal overdose. Certain medications such as anti-depressants can interact adversely with the drug. Xanax can also interact with herbal supplements, specifically supplements that affect the nervous system including St John's Wort, Valerian Root, Melatonin and Kava. Speak to your doctor before taking anything with Xanax, to reduce the chance of any side effects. According to the 1998 issue of "Alternative Medicine Review," Kava or Piper methysticum is a medicinal plant that was originally found to grow in the South Pacific Islands. Kava also has a similar mechanism of action to Xanax, and if they're taken together, kava can increase the effects of the medication.
